James Legge, Founder & Director
I began my career in finance and investment banking, working for Arthur Andersen, Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank, both in Australia and the UK. I specialised in mergers and acquisitions, advising some of the largest companies in Europe on strategy, valuation and execution.
I then followed my calling and moved into the music industry as
I began my career in finance and investment banking, working for Arthur Andersen, Bankers Trust and Deutsche Bank, both in Australia and the UK. I specialised in mergers and acquisitions, advising some of the largest companies in Europe on strategy, valuation and execution.
I then followed my calling and moved into the music industry as a co-owner of Sunset Events, helping build it from start up into one of Western Australia’s most successful festival promoters. I oversaw operations, logistics, stakeholder relations and finance/accounting.
As the festival industry matured, I pivoted into hospitality — co-founding Triple-1-Three, a brewing and venues group behind brands such as Otherside Brewing Co. and Freo.Social.
Building and leading the business provided deep experience across strategy, capital raising, structuring, governance , growth and operational complexity. As Managing Director, I guided the group through COVID and the post-pandemic trading environment, several capital raisings and debt restructures.
Having stepped back from my day-to-day leadership role in 2025, I established Lane Four Consulting to bring that experience to founders and operators navigating their own journey to success.
